A Weekend To Remember!

We began our Friday with early Valentine's Day celebrations at school and the anticipation of SNOW later in the day. We did get to dismiss from school an hour early and the first small flakes began to fall as we were driving home. To say we were excited is an understatement. (I know that many people in other parts of the country are digging out from under mountains of snow but we can't help but get excited because snow in this part of the south is so rare.) Imagine our delight as big flakes stared falling and continued until around 10:00 Friday night! We left our outside lights on just so we could watch it from all of our windows. This is what it looked like outside our front door Saturday morning This was the view from our kitchen, yes that is about five inches of snow! After breakfast and several cups of coffee we were out the door to enjoy the winter wonderland.
This little snow fellow was made late Friday afternoon, Paul had the little ones out until dark. We waited until Saturday to get his picture doesn't he look like he's waving at our neighbors as they drive by!

Anna Kayla came over and pushed the little ones on the sled. Land was off with the neighborhood boys so I didn't get any pictures of him in the snow.
Paul also took turns and kept a snow ball fight going.

After a lot of outside time we came in to enjoy a little early Valentine treat and hot chocolate. Clara Beth has it dripping off of her chin to show us how much she liked it.

Emanuiel couldn't wait to open his marshmallow lollipop.

Sunday morning we had a double celebration going on for breakfast. Valentine's Day and the beginning of Chinese New Year. What could be more appropriate to help us celebrate than a paper lantern covered in hearts hanging over our kitchen table!

After breakfast we dressed the little ones in their Valentine's outfits and headed off to church.

It was a wonderful weekend filled with LOVE spent with the ones I LOVE and it isn't over yet. In honor of Valentine's Day our Church is having Date Night. The little ones are going over for fun and fellowship while Land will help the youth with movie night for the older ones. Paul and I have a special dinner of steak and lobster planned by the fire. Imagine that, a quiet evening meal. I can hardly wait!
Until next time........................
Hope you had fun this weekend with all your loves!
