This year we were able to plan a very special Valentine's Dinner at home. No little ones having to leave the table to go the bathroom, no big ones fighting over food, no crumbs scattered under chairs and food that was actually warm when we ate it. If any of you have small children or teenagers you know exactly what I mean. I love our time around the table together as a family but occasionally a quiet dinner with my sweetheart is something I long for. On Sunday it actually happened. In my earlier post I told you about our church sponsoring "Date Night" for Valentine's Day. Imagine, an actual date we jumped at the idea. So while Paul loaded the children into the car and carried them away to an evening of fun I got busy setting the scene. Paul knew what was on the menu but he had no idea we would be dining by both candle light and fire light. While he was gone I hauled in one of our little Bistro tables from our porch and put it in front of the fireplace. Yes I did this in my fancy black dress and heels!

I quickly set the table and moved dining room chairs into the living room. When Paul arrived home our table was ready, music was playing, the lobster was ready to boil and the steaks were ready for the grill.

We talked , ate and laughed without any interruptions at all. It was a splendid evening that we won't forget. He even surprised me with a very special gift this Valentine's Day. The little ones and I always play mama bird and baby birds so what could be more perfect than this necklace from
The Vintage Pearl. He knows I adore pearls so I just love it! Their jewelry is all handmade. Each piece is unique and beautiful. Without a doubt it was a perfect evening.

Until next time.........................
Here's a prayer from a little book I have called Daily Inspirations of Blessings:
Dear Father,
Love gives me the greatest joy. I feel so secure in the love of my family and friends. Thank you for Your love that started it all!
Amen
May you be secure in all the loves of your life, most especially the love of our Heavenly Father.
Robin
