Racing Into A New Week!

This is how I feel heading into a new week...there is always much to do!
The race for the week is on once again.

Until next time... Run it well!

Hebrews 12:1
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

Sunday Snapshot-Cutie Pie

Here's our little cutie pie making faces at daddy! She wanted to join him on the football field while he made pictures of Land.

After he told her it wasn't safe to come out on the field she was happy to sit on the bleachers and pose for some pictures of her own!

She's our little cutie pie and she fills us with such joy!!!

Until next time...

Hoping you have a week filled with joy!!!

Heart, body, and soul are filled with joy...

You have let me experience the joys of life

and the exquisite pleasures of Your own eternal presence.

Sunday Snapshot---Bedtime Buddies

I love to capture sweet unexpected moments between my two little ones. The other night as I walked down the hall to tuck them in for the night I overheard Emanuiel and Clara Beth sharing secrets before bed. He was very excited about being the helper in his classroom the next day so he had climbed in bed with Clara Beth and was chatting away about all that he was going to be able to help his teacher do. Of course I had to grab the camera and save this little snippet of bedtime banter. Clara Beth is listening very intently about all that his job will entail.

He is especially excited about being the line leader everywhere his class will go.

This went on for a while with the two of them talking about how important being the helper is and how you have to be sure to follow the "wules" when you are the helper because others are always watching.

This cozy conversation was followed with lots of hugs and kisses and a night filled with sweet dreams for these two bedtime buddies!

Until next time...

May your days and nights be filled with cozy conversations and sweet songs.

Psalm 42:8
By day the LORD directs his love, at night his song is with me— a prayer to the God of my life.

Black and White Wednesday-Fishing At Uncle Doug's Pond

No matter what these two little ones do...they give it their all. This was very evident when daddy took them fishing last week at their Uncle Doug's pond. He could hardly get the fishing poles in the truck fast enough to suit these two. Once everything was loaded they were off on a fishing adventure. I didn't accompany them but boy did I hear the fish tales when they got back home and here are the pictures to prove it! Shorts, rubber boots and a fishing pole...for this little guy it just doesn't get any better.

Missy Prissy was right at home with her rod too. This girl loves some rubber boots!

Paul said that the poor little fish pulled their corks all around the pond before the littles realized they had a bite!

Oh but once they did realize it the fun really began...

So proud of his "big catch"!! Can't you tell.

Clara Beth's little fish pulled her down and she grabbed on to the ground to get a better hold on the little fellow!

Reeling in the "big one"!

They were so excited they called me from the pond to tell me the"big" news. They can hardly wait to go back now that they are both "seasoned fishermen" Thanks Uncle Doug for an afternoon of pure fun!!!

Until next time...

"Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men."

Matthew 4:19

Why don't we all do some fishing today!

Black and White Wednesday-Football Fever!!!

We have it at our house. One of our family members is especially affected by it this time every year! Can you guess who it is... That's him, number 22, crouched down and ready!

My big guy and some of his buddies right before their first pep rally...which he allowed me to attend just to take pictures!

Taking a water break during his first big game. He plays both offense and defense. When he's in the running back position and carries the ball my heart just about beats out of my chest with excitement!!! This is a boy that has LOVED the game since he was three.

Hot, tired and sweaty after the first scrimmage.

One of his team mates mothers shared with me that Land prays with the guys before the game. This made my heart leap with joy that he is not ashamed to share his faith. May he always be so bold.

CB and E getting ready for the game!!!

Hamming it up for dad!

Both my girls ready to cheer Land on!!!! Go tigers!!!! Lots of fun football times ahead!
Until next time...
May we all go forth and boldly proclaim His word!
God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power.

So Much To Celebrate!!-Black and White Wednesday

August is a busy month around our house...not only is it "back to school" it's also a big birthday month for both of my girls! Our first celebration was on the 14th with my big girl choosing her favorite meal of oven fried chicken and all the "fixins" to go along with it. This girl loves her food and the rest of us had to wait for her to finish before we could enjoy the cake! When I look at her it's so hard to believe how grown-up she is!

Wasn't it just yesterday that I sang to her each night, ate cereal in the kitchen for "bednight" snacks and put bows in her hair...I am so proud of the young woman that she has become, one filled with beauty and grace inside and out! We hardly recovered from her celebration and it was time for another one...

Today our sweet Clara Beth turned four! We celebrated Saturday night with family and friends. Here's a peek at her cake. The empty plate is where we stacked the ice cream cups.

We had food choices for the little ones and the big ones to enjoy. Paul smoked a delicious pork loin, there were ham and turkey wraps, fruit kabobs, veggies and dip, chips and pasta salad.

It didn't take long for this to disappear!

Here's the birthday girl sharing hugs with daddy.

We had to picnic on the porch because the weather did not cooperate and we had quite a down pour. It didn't stop their fun though!

Cake and ice cream was enjoyed by all. Emanuiel had already finished his can't you tell!

Then Clara Beth took the best seat in the house to open her presents!

Anna Kayla and Greg watched as the little ones ran and played all through the house! It was a delightful evening in spite of the weather. The little ones didn't get to swim but that just gives us another reason to have another party...Labor Day perhaps!

First day of school pictures coming soon. I am so far behind it seems I may never catch up.

Until next time...

Watching my children grow is one of my greatest joys. It all passes so quickly. As much as I love them I know that God loves them even more. I take comfort in this...

I have upheld [you] since you were conceived, and have carried [you] since your birth. Even to your old age and gray hairs. I am He, I am He who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and rescue you.

Isaiah 46:3-4

Things I Love...Just Because

Because I am passing time and missing Paul, because Land is in his room, and the little ones are asleep and because I am waiting to have a slumber party with Anna Kayla because Greg is also away I am thinking of little things I love... I just mentioned all the big things I love so on to the little things...in no particular order.

Sweet tea with a wedge of fresh squeezed lime and not lemon. The perfect combination of sweet and tart.

Cinnamon Crunch Bagels with cream cheese mixed with maple syrup and sprinkled with fresh ground Cinammon sugar.

My little ones smelling soapy and sweet after a bath running for towels to see which one daddy gets to carry to their pajamas first.

Cool 400 thread count sheets to dream the night away in.

Seeing sleepy faces in the morning with tousled hair and watching Emanuiel reach for his glasses before his eyes are completely open.

Bare feet on wood floors.

Tiki torches and Chinese lanterns glowing at dusk while Land and the littles splash in the pool.

Classical music playing while I cook.

Anna Kayla and Greg coming over to visit.

The quiet of the morning with my Bible, journal and a steaming cup of coffee made by my sweet heart.

Movie popcorn.

Listening to the frogs from the pond behind our house with Land.

Sitting on the porch with Paul.

Romping through our backyard wishing that summer would never end...

Until next time...
I hope you are enjoying all the things you love...just because.
How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!

An Evening Remembered-Black and White Wednesday

Before this past Saturday's dinner party fades into a sweet memory I thought I better share the few pictures that I did manage to take. I really hate that I didn't take more pictures but once the guests arrived I was completely drawn into good company and conversation and there was just no time for pictures. I was busy all day Saturday getting things ready so by the time the doorbell rang...
our friends were greeted with this delicious and tart Mango Tango Tea courtesy of the March issue of Southern Living. It was the perfect beginning to accompany our appetizers.

I kept these simple so that we would have plenty of room left for the main course. We gathered in the kitchen and helped ourselves to fruit, aged cheddar and Pepper Jack cheese on crackers. One of my guests also brought along yummy pizza dippers and hot bacon and cheese dip. We had to make ourselves stop so that we wouldn't spoil our dinner.

When the Italian Stuffed Shells and Chicken Parmesan were ready we moved ourselves into the dining room. The main course was enjoyed along with a delicious mixed green salad, supplied by another sweet guest, and Crusty Parmesan Cheese bread hot and gooey right out of the oven.

It was here that we lingered for the rest of the evening, only getting up to refill the glasses with sweet tea and to bring in the dessert. I had three options for dessert; a Cream Cheese Pound Cake that I intended to drizzle with homemade Carmel sauce, a fresh strawberry pie, brought by another sweet friend and the one that everyone opted for... Butter Pecan Mousse that had been chilling in stemmed glasses in my refrigerator all afternoon. We laughed and talked and had a most wonderful time. I hope we can all do it again very soon.

Until next time...

A verse that's worth repeating over and over again:

He fills my life with good things.
