This is a picture of our family on our front porch. We need to hurry and get Clara Beth so I won't be the shortest one. Even our eight year old is about to pass me!

Waiting, Watching and Praying
All of us on this wonderful journey to adoption know about the waiting. Oh, how we wait! We wait for paper work, we wait for the mail, we wait to hear from our agencies, we wait for a log in date and once that comes there's what.... more waiting. So while we wait what do we do? We watch, every single adoption website we can find! We constantly cruise the internet looking at the referral pictures and wondering what our little one will look like. While we wait and watch we pray. We pray for our precious little ones and those that are caring for them. We pray for God's perfect timing and we pray that He will give us patience while we wait and watch!
This is our story, this is our journey and we know that there are so many that are traveling this course with us. We hope you will enjoy following us as much as we have enjoyed learning about the journeys of so many others.
Our story is unique in the fact that in our small town we are not making this journey alone. We have four other couples that are with us. In May of 2004 God spoke to my heart about adoption. I didn't find this to be so unusual because I was adopted and my husband and I have a birth daughter and an adopted son. What I did find unusual was the fact that he put a Chinese child in my heart. This was much to my husband's dismay because he thought our family was complete. God, however had a different plan which He continued to put into place. We began to pray together as a family about a foreign adoption. I was praying especially hard because I kept telling God, "You know I HATE to fly I can't believe you want me to go halfway around the earth, I don't even want to fly to Florida much less China. So then our pray became if not us then show us how to help others who want to do this. So we started contacting agencies to get information. We set up adoption workshops at our church and we were amazed at the number of people interested. We formed a group and we now have five couples and their families that are in this together. Isn't God's work amazing? When this began I was thinking about one baby that we could bring home and now we are waiting to bring home FIVE!!!!!!!
So to those of you who are waiting along with us just remember that although we would like for things to be instantaneous God knows best. Whether you're deciding about adoption and waiting on an answer, waiting on a log in date, waiting on a referral, or waiting to travel don't lose sight of the fact that God loves us and knows the desires of our heart. We have to trust in Him and He will help us grow through this period of waiting. After all, the end result will definitely be worth the wait!
Until next time..................
